Fun With Patio Umbrella Lights

Many people have patio umbrellas on the patios for providing a cooling shade in the afternoon or sheltering them from a light rain on a summer's day.  Not many people know about a fun accessory that can be used with their patio umbrellas called patio umbrella lights.  Most people don't want to take their patio umbrella in at night or fold it down at night.  Sitting under a patio umbrella at night can be kind of dark because the umbrella will likely block a lot of the light from your patio lighting fixture.

Installing a patio umbrella light on your patio umbrella can solve this problem and make sitting under the patio umbrella at night quite relaxing.  Most patio umbrella lights are battery powered and use LED bulbs.  It's good that they use LED light bulbs because  LED's are very efficient and don't use very much battery power at all.

There are a couple of types of patio umbrella lights to choose from.  There are light fixtures that have a hole in the middle of them like a doughnut.  These are generally round or octagon in shape and have multiple LED light bulbs around the perimeter of the fixture.  Some are designed to sit on your patio table and some are designed to hang near the top of your patio umbrella and shine light down on you.

Another type of patio umbrella light his rope lighting.  Rope lighting is basically clear plastic tubing with several small LED light bulbs spaced about 2 inches apart. Rope lighting can be wrapped around the patio umbrella shaft and then woven in between the spars of the patio umbrella to create a fun effect.

Adding patio umbrella lights to your patio umbrella, can promote a very relaxing and soothing atmosphere for you and your friends or significant other to enjoy.  It's actually quite surprising how much these little lights can do to change the atmosphere of your patio.

If you decide to redesign your patio and change it into a covered design – there are many things to consider.

Always check your available budget. You should first research the cost of enclosing a patio. Then you should estimate how much is needed to start with the cover project. What kind of cover you prefer, tiles, wood, cement, or what kind of design or motif; ethnic, Victorian, Asian or contemporary? Would you like a patio that is weather-proof? Then that would mean more dollars to spend, but remember it would be an excellent investment because nothing will be more precious than the tranquility a perfect patio can give you.

You can consult a few well-reputed contractors, and compare their biddings. Remember it does not necessarily follow that the lowest bidder should be taken; you have to be wise. You might settle for the lowest bidder and end up having an ugly covered patio or something nice but very unstable and an accident prone structure. Unless you already have tried this certain contractor that charges low, but has an impeccable reputation of doing a perfect job in every project then go for him.

With the planning goes the sort of furniture you would like to put. Choose the set that complements the structure. One tip to make your patio beautiful is to install cheap multi-light pendants.
